Kurt Steele's Meditation on Heaven
Heaven, Heaven, Heaven, what a thought to ponder. I write today on the perspective of heaven. I believe that heaven will be a new body free from pain and sickness, but what is way more cool is to have to ultimate new heart free from sin and complete in Christ. No more battle, no more struggle, no more war, just simple celebration and learn from Him all of His ways forever and ever. "When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory." I am ever aware of the sinfulness of my heart and I can't wait until the process of sanctification is complete, the day of Christ Jesus. What a day when we are with Him and He calls us by name, His chosen and accepted one. We will be transformed by Him personally wiping away our tears. I can imagine all of us falling at the throne of God and asking "WHY?" Why would he ransom Kurt Steele? Why would He be slain for me? The answer will be a resounding sound from the angels on high, GRACE, ALL of Grace. Amazing and matchless grace is the reason...nothing more and nothing less. Worthy is the lamb slain for me.
I do not think we reflect enough on heaven because we are so into NOW and this present age. BUT this is not home! we are just passing through. I am humbled to ponder that we are apart of the eternal glory of our Father. He chose us before the foundation of the world and we will live with Him forever. We are just foreigners here and we do not belong to this world. Wow...I just realized the apostle Paul writes, "I am hardpressed from both directions having the deisre to be with Chirst for that is very much better, yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake..." I belong to a heavenly kingdom where there is nothing peace and sinners like me become roaylty. I get excited to go home where I belong a citizen of heaven and child of my eternal daddy.
What does heaven mean to me? It means unbroken fellowship with my Father and His Son. It means no more sickness, sorrow, and sin. It means sitting at the feet with Jesus for eternity and Him teaching me the glory of God. Kurt Steele will finally be set free from temptation and enjoy sweet fellowship and intimacy thatI merely tast here on earth.
Old saints have sung of "over there" or "Jordan" or the "promise land". The saying of modern day seems to speculate "Don't be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good." BUT nothing could be further from the truth for it is proved over and over again that the men and women that were heavenly minded made the biggest difference on earth. My premise is that we should be WAY MORE HEAVENLY MINDED.
Think of this and ponder...think of the distance the earth is from the sun which is 93 million miles...think of the "dwarf planet", Pluto at 3,674.5 million miles from the Sun...can you comprehend that distance...how about the stars...million and million and billion of miles and high above all of that is heaven...because the Creator of all is above it all...I have a friend in San Diego that gave me the first opportunity to look through a poweful telescope and I could not even comprehend that majesty of the heavens. As I reflect upon heaven and the glory that awaits us, I marvel how hung up that I get with worldly things. I am stripped of my pride and I kneel in anticipation of eternity with the King of Glory.
To sum up my thoughts, I am homesick to be with my Father and His Son where they await me. Think of this...they will greet us by our name...that is how personal the gospel is and salvation is for us. He knows how many hairs we have on our head. His thoughts about each of us outnumber all the sands on the beaches in all the world. Can you comprehend that...us worshipping our King that loves us personally beyond all we could imagine.
I don't think any of us could pretend to describe how beautiful heaven is.
How I long for heaven...How I look forward to the peace and rest it brings:
No more wars...
No more violence...
no more divorce...
No more broken hearts...
No more suicide bombs...
No more crime...
No more disease, Aids, cancer, paralysis...
No more fear...
No more hate...
No more burdens to bear...
God is a glorious place and I am going there by His grace...
Wait a minute...can you hear? Praises, angels singing, "Worthy is the Lamb", GLORY TO GOD...can you see the end of the night, the end of the pain, the anhiliation of all of our debts...do you see the risen LAMB, do you see the mansions built and prepared for us, do you see His hand wiping tears, do you see the Great I am...yes come taste and see...HEAVEN
What a day that will be! When He will take me by His hand and lead me to the promise land. Heaven is a city made by God...a city where we are the citizens...precious is the site of the Lord is the death of His saints...no wonder...He is there waiting for us at the finish line. Don't discount His words, He will meet us ALL, PERSONALLY...
Forever I will be with the One who died for me...what a day, glorious day that will be...when my Jesus I shall see...when I look upon His face...the one who saved me by GRACE...WHAT A DAY, GLORIOUS DAY THAT WILL BE!
AIM AT HEAVEN, YOU WILL GET EARTH THROWN IN...AIM AT EARTH AND GET NEITHER!!!
